Christmas in Germany with Clutch Bags: A Holiday Adventure

This November, I got a head start on Christmas by exploring three magical cities in Germany: Frankfurt, Berlin, and Munich! If you're anything like me—a Christmas enthusiast—Germany should definitely be on your travel bucket list. Here’s a glimpse of what made my holiday escape unforgettable:

The Magic of Christmas Markets

Germany’s traditional Christmas Markets are nothing short of enchanting. They’re the perfect place to soak up the holiday spirit, meet locals, shop for unique crafts, and indulge in festive treats. This was my first time trying the German eggnog, Eierlikör, and let me tell you: it’s a game-changer!

Some of my favorite markets were the Medieval Christmas Market at RAW in Berlin, the Christmas Village at the Munich Residenz, and the iconic Frankfurt Christmas Market. These spots get pretty lively, so I loved having my trusty Travel Bag to keep my essentials safe and close while I browsed and sipped my Glühwein.

Festive Foodie Finds

German cuisine may not always steal the spotlight, but their Christmas pastries? Pure magic. I finally tried a classic Christstollen in its homeland—a rich, spiced fruitcake with marzipan that’s been a family favorite for years. And yes, I stocked up on Dresden’s famous stollen to bring home, all thanks to my roomy Tote Bag (a lifesaver for carrying everything without relying on plastic bags).

Other festive treats that stole my heart? Warm Bretzels (of course), creamy Käsekuchen (the German cheesecake), and a yummy slice of Apfelstrudel.

Snowy Scenery Straight Out of a Christmas Movie

Although it wasn’t officially winter, I was lucky to see plenty of snow near the Alps. Garmisch-Partenkirchen, a picturesque village close to Munich, felt like stepping into a Hallmark movie. Between shopping, sipping Glühwein, and snapping photos of every charming corner, I also squeezed in a quick hike to soak up the stunning mountain views.

For this, I swapped my Tote for the Leopard-Print Crossbody Bag—lightweight, stylish, and just big enough for my essentials.
