Holiday Time in New York: Living the Home Alone 2 Dream

New York City during the holidays is pure magic. The city transforms into a dazzling wonderland with sparkling lights, holiday music, and iconic decorations.

For many, visiting New York during this time is a bucket-list experience. This year, I decided to make my childhood dream come true by recreating some of the most memorable moments from Home Alone 2: Lost in New York. And what better companion for this adventure than the Travel Bag from Clutch Bag New York?

A Travel Bag That Keeps Up

From the moment I landed in New York, the Travel Bag proved to be the perfect partner. Designed with a busy traveler in mind, this crossbody bag not only looks sleek but is incredibly practical. While I was exploring the grand halls of The Plaza Hotel, strolling through Central Park, and shopping along Fifth Avenue, the bag’s functionality and style made everything easier.

Here’s what makes the Travel Bag a must-have:

  • Roomy yet Compact: It fits all the essentials.. a fold-up umbrella, small water bottle, phone, and wallet.. without feeling bulky.

  • Comfortable Crossbody Design: The adjustable 19-inch drop strap ensures it sits perfectly across your body, leaving your hands free for shopping bags, hot chocolate, or a map to your next adventure.

  • Smart Organization: The main zipper closure, along with exterior and interior zipper

pockets, keeps everything secure and easy to access.

  • Premium Materials: Made from tumbled black leather with a suede interior lining, the bag combines durability with luxury.

  • Perfect Dimensions: Measuring 13” x 7” x 3”, it’s the ideal size for city escapades.

  • Proudly Made in the USA: Supporting local craftsmanship while owning a timeless piece is always a win.

Following in Kevin McCallister’s Footsteps

With my trusty Travel Bag, I retraced some of Kevin’s steps:

  1. The Plaza Hotel: Standing in the opulent lobby felt surreal. I may not have had a Talkboy recorder to book my stay, but the experience was magical nonetheless.

  2. Central Park: Bundled up against the winter chill, I wandered through the snow-covered paths. My bag kept my hands free to snap photos of the stunning scenery.

  3. FAO Schwarz: No trip to New York is complete without visiting this iconic toy store. My Travel Bag easily stored my small souvenirs while I marveled at the oversized stuffed animals and elaborate displays.

  4. Rockefeller Center: The giant Christmas tree and ice-skating rink were every bit as enchanting as I’d imagined. The exterior zipper pocket of the bag was perfect for quickly grabbing my phone to capture the moment.

For me, it wasn’t just a bag.. it was part of my adventure, helping me live out my dream of a New York Christmas, Home Alone-style.

As I boarded my flight back home, I realized this bag wasn’t just my travel companion.. it was a piece of New York I’d be carrying with me, reminding me of the magic and joy of the holiday season in the city.
